Location - Cefalu

Casa Sirena is situated in the hamlet Serre near Cefalu. The house is situated on a mountain slope, on a height of approximately 500 meters and has a great view on the surroundings of Cefalu, the coast and the Mediterranean Sea.

The house is situated on the edge of the national park ‘Parco delle Madonie’, a vast and untouched mountain area with a lot of possibilities for hiking and to enjoy nature or for a small trip by car. Sun, sea and vast sandy beaches can be found in and around Cefalu. For the children there is a tropical waterpark in the neighbourhood.

By car it does not take much time to reach the green mountains of the Madonie area and small midieval villages like Castelbuono, Polizzi Generosa, Petralia Soprana and Sottana, Collesano and Pollina.

Cefalu is a lovely old fishing town situated on the north coast of Sicily about 80 kilometres east of Palermo. Characteristic for the town is the rock, 'la Rocca di Cefalu'. On the top of the rock you will find the small 'Temple of Diana' dating back to ancient times.

In the centre of the city you will find the impressive cathedral dating back from the 12th century with a number of very beautiful and well preserved mosaics. In front of the cathedral there is a big square with a number of cosy terraces. In the bay of Cefalu, but also in the direct surroundings there are long beautiful sandy beaches, something that is not obvious in the Mediterranean. The water is crystal clear so bring your snorkel set.

Due to its central position Cefalu is the perfect base from which the many sights on the island can be visited easily.
